The Malaysian Bird Report has recently entered into a formal content collaboration with Birds of the World (BOW). Birds of the World is a participatory avian life history platform that empowers a global community of ornithologists to unlock transformative insights for research and conservation. The BOW is a powerful resource that brings deep, scholarly content from four celebrated works of ornithology into a single platform where biologists and birders can find comprehensive life history information on birds. It is a reference tool that includes 11,017 species accounts and 251 family accounts for every bird in the world.

BOW species accounts are under a constant state of revision and special efforts are being made to address data gaps and surface regional science.

Please work with us so we can incorporate our mutual expertise on Malaysian birds into this important online resource. If you are interested in being involved, supporting or contributing to the work please contact the MBR committee at malaysianbirdreport@gmail.com.

The Wild Bird Club Malaysia is a registered non-profit and membership-based organization that strives to conserve Malaysia’s unique birds and their habitats through promoting best practices for bird-watching and encouraging people to enjoy birds and value nature. They plan birdwatching outings and have a very active Facebook page where recent sightings are posted. WBCM supports eBird Malaysia as a collaborative project.

The Sabah Bird Watchers Association (SBWA) was established with the primary objective to promote birdwatching in Sabah and Malaysia. SBWA aims to improve birding ethics, provide young individuals exposure to birdwatching and a platform to pursue their interest. They have over 30 experienced bird guides and 200 bird watcher & photographer enthusiasts.
